We operate with the professionalism of a big company but are, in fact, still a
small & trusted local business.

Who Are We?
Pittsburgh DJ Company is a full-time, insured, professional DJ business. We are experienced, organized and trust-worthy.
Oh, and we sure know how to keep the dancefloor full!
PGHDJCO provides entertainment to the Western Pennsylvania region and beyond!
We have done events all over PA, Ohio, West Virginia, New York, Maryland, North Carolina & Florida.

How Did We Start?
After many years of being an independent DJ in the Pittsburgh region, Dean McAfee founded Pittsburgh DJ Company in 2006 as a professional DJ collective; with the purpose of changing the stereotype of the "cheesy wedding DJ".
Since then, there have been many imitators, but only one original Pittsburgh DJ Company and it continues to grow as a vibrant local business.

How do we choose our DJs?
Our criteria for being a "Pittsburgh DJ" is very strict; we pick only the best local DJ's and they must be able to rock a dancefloor nightclub style, while staying true to the importance of your event.
*All of our award-winning DJs have Professional DJ experience at weddings, nightclubs and everything in-between! And more importantly, they know the difference between them!

We'll load in no more than 2 hours before our start time, at your designated After Party location. We'll setup our equipment and perform up to 3 hours!
This option is great if you have a band for your wedding or event or if you just want a to keep the party going with another Professional DJ after Pittsburgh DJ Company just crushed your reception!

FAQ
Are you insured?
Yes! We are insured for $1,000,000 per event. Proof of insurance can be presented to your banquet facility if they would like it.
How do I secure my date?
Please check our date availability tool or leave a message by email or phone to check date availability. The next step is to sign a contract and provide a security deposit. This will secure your date. We accept cash, checks, major credit cards & Paypal.
Why do I have to sign a contract?
A contract is nothing scary; in fact, it protects you. Without a contract, a DJ (or anyone) could take your money and just not show up! A contract protects both sides and just makes sure that you're getting exactly what you're paying for. Even if you do not book with Pittsburgh DJ Company; please only book a DJ that makes you sign a contract! Every professional will have one.
Can we sign the contract through the mail?
Sure! We will email or mail you the contract to fill out, and hold your date for a short time, so you have time to sign it and send it back with your security deposit. Or if you have a scanner, we can do everything through email, and payment through credit card.
Can we meet with our DJ in person?
Of course! If you prefer to meet in person, that is certainly understandable! Jasmine, our schedule coordinator will coordinate a meeting time and place and go over everything in person. The DJ you meet with will be YOUR DJ... no surprises!
How Do We Finalize the Details?
With your contract, you will receive paperwork to fill out and return. This paperwork will tell us your special songs and requests, your "do not play" list and your announcement details. Also, your DJ will contact you at least one week before your wedding to finalize the details. We want to make sure your guests have a great time and we want your event to be done in an organized manner, so we don't leave anything up to chance...
See, if something goes wrong- well, that makes you AND us look bad... and no one wants that! In fact; we want your celebration to go as well as you do!
Do you charge extra for MC services during my event?
NO! It's true that some DJs charge per announcement, but that's crazy! Let's keep things easy... All announcements, introductions, table directing, etc. etc. are included in your package and handled professionally.
Where will you play?
We have high-end sound systems and are always prepared for any setup at the banquet halls, meeting centers and ballrooms in the Pittsburgh area and surrounding region. We do outdoor events too! We just need a roof or cover of some kind and access to electricity.
What kind of experience do your DJs have?
Every one of our DJ's have been Professionals for at least 10 years, most for 15 years or more. Our DJs basically have the same story; it started out as a hobby, playing at friend's parties and such... over the years, gaining professional experience with everything from bars and nightclubs to raves, and of course, weddings! Although the focus of the business is weddings, we still love playing all types of events; and we regularly are booked for charity events, corporate events and any event that needs good music!
Will your DJ's drink alcohol at my event?
Always professional in performance and appearance; we don't smoke or drink on the job. We are there to provide the party for you, not to party ourselves! But we can assure you, it will be fun!
How do your DJs dress?
At weddings and high-end events, our DJs will dress like one of your guests would.. in a suitcoat or vest & tie; or however you specify. (within reason LOL)
Do your DJ's display banners, signs or pamphlets on a table at my wedding?
No! We understand the importance of keeping your event on the classier side, so we don't come packing like it's a chance to advertise for our company! We do plenty of advertising at Bridal Shows, charity events and web & print ads... we don't need to do it at your wedding.
What kind of equipment do you use? How does it look?
We use only professional-grade DJ equipment with trusted names such as Bose, Pioneer, Technics, QSC & Serato. Our equipment is displayed as neatly as possible, we go out of our way to avoid visible wires and to keep a clean look.
Do you offer a Military Discount?
Yes! We appreciate the service of any member of our U.S. Military. We will give a 10% discount off of your total wedding bill (max is $200) with us, any day of the year! All we need is an active military ID from the bride or groom!
What kind of music do you play? Do you take requests?
Oh, music...? We got you covered!
Of course, we play the right music at the right time... But that's because our DJs actually LOVE music! We know NEW songs- we know OLD songs- and we know everything in between!
And yes, requests are encouraged! Some DJs just don't know who you're talking about when you name new artists or old favorites... if it's not in their "DJ standard playbook", forget it! But that's just not the way we operate. We like to play a good mix that gets everyone up out of their seats and dancing!
By the way, don't worry about huge basslines during dinner... we're knowledgeable AND considerate!
